Course Description

We now live in a world of globalization. To better understand this global phenomenon, I encourage you to study Asia first. This course is an introduction
to the Asian studies.The course starts with a brief look at major characteristics of this quickly evolving and most dynamic region in the world, and then followed by country-specific overviews presented in a comparison between two countries/areas which are used to form an unity such as China and Taiwan, South and North koreas as well as India and Pakistan.
Evaluation is based on the attendance record and the result of term-end exam or report.
