In ancient and medieval Japan, the problem of succession to the throne was closely related to power.The form of existence of the Emperor's court and descendants was an important issue which exerted a big influence on succession of the throne and inheritance of the manor.In this lecture, we will analyze relatives of the Emperor from a family historical point of view and think how the composition of relatives of the Emperor will change over time and what political and historical significance do they have.
