Course Description

This class will provide an opportunity for the student to practice/enhance their summary writing and presentation skill. It is suitable for the student who need to attend a seminar class in the 3rd year (junior). In the first few lectures, students will learn how to make a good summary and they are required to read and summarize the articles assigned before each class.
By reviewing each other’s summary and providing feedbacks (in a small group), students should be able to think and learn what is required to write a comprehensible and efficient summary. Next, you will learn and practice how to make a good and effective presentation. With a similar reviewing/feedback process, students should be able to gain or strengthen their presentation skills. Articles/topics about Korean linguistics, history and culture will be used/discussed in the class. At the same time, students will be guided to learn about how to prepare for the study abroad program starting in the fall semester, such as how to apply for a Korean visa etc.
