Course Description

Information organization is roughly divided into cataloging (descriptive cataloging) and, classification and indexing (subject cataloging). In this course, with the knowledge of infromation organization and information retrieval learned in "Introduction to information organization", we exercise and practice descriptive cataloging work in the library using Japanese standard tool, "Nippon Cataloging Rules 1987 Edition 2006 Revision" (NCR).
