Course Description

This course deals with the history and process of the change of the postwar Japanese industrial structure, focusing on crucial factors that have contributed to the change of Japanese industry, especially the manufacturing industries. Factors examined are: industrial policy of the government, technological and managerial improvement of firms in each industry, the influence of international trade and investments.
