Course Description

This course is designed as an introduction to the cultures and societies of Latin America. The principal aim of this course is to help students acquire a holistic understanding about Latin American society and culture, focusing on conflicts and peace processes, which reflect region’s political, economic, social and cultural contexts.
By the end of the course, participants are expected to obtain basic knowledge about Latin American society and culture, and to be able to explain the causes, the processes and the ends of a variety of this region’s conflicts related to social and cultural aspects.
