Course Description

This course covers the basic theories and knowledge for finance, banking in Japan. Functions of Japanese financial institutions and financial markets are explained. The meaning of interest rates and how prices of financial assets are determined are also explained in this course.
The goals of the course are to obtain basic knowledge for following matters.
(1) Functions of Japanese financial institutions such as banks, security companies or insurance companies.
(2) Functions of Japanese financial markets such as money market, bond market or stock market.
