Course Description

This course deals with the international law of human rights. The topics are as follows: history of the protection of human rights: activities of the United Nations human rights system; the International Covenants on Human Rights and the other human rights treaties; the rights of women; the rights of the child; the rights of laborers; the rights of refugees; the rights of indigenous peoples; development and human rights; war crimes; crimes against humanity; genocide; the International Criminal Court.
