Course Description

This course will introduce major canonical figures in the history of European literature and philosophy, through the eye of the nineteenth century English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, who was one of the most prominent Romantic poets in his time, having a refined taste for literature and philosophy. With Shelley's elegant commentaries, students will learn Plato, Ovid, Dante, Shakespeare, Milton, Rousseau, and others. Those students who have missed one-third of all classes without due justification will receive a grade penalty.
