Course Description

In an era of increased internationalization and globalization, it is paramount that professional educators become proficient in the field of international education. This class is designed to introduce education students to international education by having them analyze and recognize the cross-cultural nature of their students and themselves and to understand the stereotypes of Japanese children. Through a study of the course textbook, students will a learn the history of international education and explore the aims of this field. Finally, students will be introduced to current model practices and gain practical experience through fieldwork.
