Course Description

Curators treat various kinds of collections. There are various items such as historical collections, art collections and natural science collections that can be managed in the display case. Moreover, there is a wide variety of collections, such as living animals and plants, historical sites and geological outcrop sections that cannot be displayed in display cases. Curators sometimes treat the collections that are different from their specialty.
In this class, we will first understand the characteristics of various museum collections. In addition, acquire basic knowledge essential for the preservation and utilization of museum collections.
