Course Description

This course centers on the theme of musical expression in nursery and early-childhood education on site in terms of both theory and practice, to impart the fundamentals of early-childhood musical expression. Another aim of the course is to help students develop teaching skills for a wide range of expressive activities.
Specifically, the course introduces practical expressive activities in nursery and early-childhood education scene (hand play, music play, song/instrument play, and bodily expression, etc.) to provide students with a basic overview of early childhood and expression, and basic approaches to play. Students also get opportunities to experience the joys of musical expression and creation, thereby cultivating their own expressive capacities, and learn about their roles as childcare providers, developing the mindset and leadership for enriching sensitivity and expressiveness in the young minds they help mold.
