Course Description

“Enjoy Chinese Characters”
Chinese characters are the basic entrance of Chinese studies.
For many centuries we Japanese have imported these characters and used them as our original culture.
But originally they are foreign characters, so we actually don’t know their true appearance.
Now we investigate the many aspects of Chinese characters that which we Japanese have not noticed.
For example, the history of Japanese pronunciation for Chinese characters, the meanings of their sounds, the changes of their shapes.
