Course Description

This class is to read and analyze current political, economic, social and technological news including such topics as US-China trade disputes, Brexit, Japan’s aging society and autonomous cars. Students are also to be reminded that news is not a fact itself but a text written by its author having its supposed readers. Thus students are urged to reconstruct their own version of news after reading original news.
