Course Description

This seminar is designed to motivate the students interested in English language to investigate into many aspects of English idiomatic expressions, as compared to Japanese equivalents. The topics in this semester include: what are idioms; types of idioms; phrasal verbs; difference between idioms and collocations; idioms of activities, work, business, weather, leisure, holidays, food, plans, interests, feelings, time, numbers, emphasis, decisions, opinions, etc.
