Course Description

Through regular learning activities and cycles of research, students will work on critical thinking, note-taking, brainstorming, mind-mapping, different ways of learning vocabulary. Students will improve the visualization of their research, discussion and presentation skills using different multiliteracies. Depending on students’ interest, students will use all the resources at hand – posters, Gapminder, powerpoint, Prezi. Pechakucha etc, video presentation, interviews, drama, photography, poetry – to express themselves in a bespoke manner.

The spring semester will focus on presentations skills. The second semester will focus on formal discussion and debate. Throughout the year, students will decide the topic, come to class with notes about research, discuss the topic, receive new questions from other students and the teacher and further research the topic in greater detail for homework.
