Course Description

The importance and usefulness of statistics in studying contemporary Japan are taken up. This course focuses on regression analysis, a typical statistical method for investigating the causal relationships among variables. Its analytical framework, way of collecting empirical data as dependent or independent variables, and application to empirical data are discussed. Then, participants are required to apply the method to the data they collect. Furthermore, various statistical models other than regression analysis are explained.
