Course Description

This course introduces the outline of Japanese history based on the latest research. This course mainly deals with political aspects of history, such as how the authorities of the time built the governance system and dominated the people. The aim of this course is to understand the characteristics of each era. Spring semester classes will cover the period from ancient times (Jomon period) to the end of 16th century (shokuho period).
