Course Description

Based on the basic concepts of teaching methods of foreign language and course design covered in Methodology of Japanese Language Education I, we will learn how to support the processes of acquisition of Japanese language for learners of different needs, by practicing teaching skills. We will first learn the beginning-level grammar of the Japanese language for learners, and analyze learning materials or textbooks for various types of learners, such as international students, children, or foreign workers. In so doing, students will reflect the usage of the Japanese language, and experience the process of learning Japanese as a foreign language. We will be able to consider how to assist nonnative speakers of Japanese in diversified environments.
