Course Description

Agriculture is important to human life not only in maintaining human life but also in giving employment and sustaining human environment. And agriculture is tightly connected with food system which includes food processinng industries and restaurants. This course offers an overview of the current food and agricultural systems of Japan. In this courseⅡ, following the explanation of the current condition of agriculture in Japan in the courseⅠ, we will discuss the pattern of agricultural evolution and the development of governmental policies. In addition, the overseas trade of agricultural products and food safety will be analysed.
