Course Description

In this series of lectures, students will read a book by Kiyoko Segawa, a famous scholar in the 20th century. Her book, Shoku Seikatsu no Rekishi, is based on her field surveys and provides meaningful insight into modern Japan. After this class, students will understand the differences between the social systems, social structure, and culture of that time and today.
