Course Description

This course introduces students to the Japanese history from the eve of the Pacific War to its end and reviews the process of the related decision-makings. In this course we will address the history of the most turbulent times of modern Japan which contains serious lessons applicable to today’s situations. Students are required to think out all the issues addressed in this course and draw lessons from them, which helps students cultivate their ability to consider social or political issues of our time with the awareness of the history of modern Japan.
