Course Description

Cultural anthropology is a field of study focused on the cultural variation of humans. “Cultural Anthropology I” is an introductory course to learn the basic anthropological ways of thinking and questioning. In this course, students will learn the basic concepts and theoretical perspectives in cultural anthropology and the discipline’s historical development. By looking at various ethnographic cases around the world, students are expected to realize their stereotypes on “the others,” and the alien becomes familiar and the familiar becomes alien.
