Course Description

We often tend to consider "region" · "district" as clear space bounded by boundary. However, the actual "region" is not necessarily fixed, it is artificially created as well.
In this lecture, we will learn from the process of formation of regional concepts and its effects by looking at the history of the “Independent Lolo”area in the Republic of China era, and its influence, and aim to acquire new perspectives about "the periphery", "local".
