Course Description

This class focuses on studying play and creativity in early childhood by using observation method. It considers how other children impact on the play decisions and creative choices children make. Keywords such as peer intimacy, emotional sharing, realm between reality and imagination, meta-communication, improvisation and gender differences are considered. You will learn about the procedure of “experimental observation: setting a situation with the purposes of research” for young children. Also you will explore how children express their ideas and interests through play and consider how children are included in play and creative experience. At the end of this class , you are supposed to submit a study report .
