The importance of entrepreneurship has been emphasized by many researchers and policy makers as entrepreneurship helps promote innovation, create new jobs, and offer new career opportunities to would-be entrepreneurs. In this course, we overview the process of entrepreneurship, examining fundamental problems that entrepreneurs face when stepping into each stage of the entrepreneurial process. While the concept of entrepreneurship generally includes broad phenomena, in this course, specifically, we focus on establishment of new firms. In the fall semester, the topics include various macro perspectives, such as: policy intervention, regulation and institutions, socio-economic phenomena, and social business.
