Course Description

In this course, we will deal with Family Law, especially “Civil Code Part V Inheritance”. There exist rules on the succession of assets owned by the decedent in “Inheritance Law”.
As with “Relatives Law”, “Inheritance Law” is also required to change according to the times and societies, and the revised inheritance law was established in 2018. It can be said that the Japanese inheritance system has reached a turning point.
The course will explain the basic framework concerning Inheritance Law, and we will also consider contemporary new issues and problems, referring to important precedents in recent years.
