Course Description

The course attempts to develop a higher proficiency in sociological field research methods through participants’ carrying out fieldwork in practice. Building on the knowledge and skills acquired in Field Research Methods in the spring semester, each student will execute the set of sequential tasks that constitute the process of fieldwork: planning, accessing the field, data collection, data analysis, and writing up a research paper. Participants will proceed the process by sharing his/her experiences in the field back in classroom and revisioning the course of research, if need be.
By practicing fieldwork, the course participants will not only acquire deeper understanding of it, but also get better equipped with dealing with diverse realities in contemporary world.
