Course Description

This course is intended to study various aspects of traditional Japanese culture, which is the key to understanding contemporary Japan. We will examine such topics as religious beliefs, traditional way of thinking, traditional clothes and color, life of common people and aristocrats in the Heian period, traditional music, warrior ethics, and cuisine.
