Course Description

Contemporary tourism is a socio-economic phenomenon which plays an important role in establishing the cultural situation of modern society as well as being an one of largest industry in economy today. In this lecture, we focus on viewpoints of tourism that does not necessarily depend on the industry theory, consider the power relations between hosts and guests, and various social and cultural influences that tourism gives to local communities.
