Course Description

In contemporary tourism, encounters with people with different cultural backgrounds are not extraordinary anymore. However, communication in the global society involves complicated issues related to culture, identity, politics and power, and for a smooth communication with others, a fundamental understanding of such background Is required. In this lecture, we will learn the basic theories that are required to build relationships with cultural others, and examine the meaning of global communication from the case of tourism phenomena.
