Course Description

This is an introductory course in the fundamental concepts, principles and methods of educational research. It is a survey course that serves as a foundation for practitioners who have little of no experience in educational research. Students who plan to participate in extensive applied and action educational research are strongly encouraged also to take a course in quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Also, this course will help students will reflect on the role various forms of electronic and digital technology can play in the teaching/learning process and how you can engage these processes in your classroom. Students will become skilled in some of the many digital tools used in today's schools. In addition, students will be exposed to basic theories of communication, selection, evaluation and research, and will be assisted in determining appropriate applications of these theories and techniques in educational settings.
