Course Description

1. Outline of the Class
In this class, you will prepare for studying abroad. Students will prepare for conversations abroad on a variety of topics. We will cover various social rules and regulations to help you lead an independent life in Germany. Students will learn not only conversational skills but also how to behave abroad accordingly. This class also includes a crisis seminar and a JTB information session.

2. Goals of the Class
In order to make the most of your German language skills, you will acquire not only vocabulary and grammar, but also the ability to act and make decisions in common situations, applicable abroad.

3. Grading Method and Criteria
Ordinary points (weekly homework and attendance: 50%, end-of-term oral exam: 50%)

4. Textbooks and reference materials
Handouts will be distributed.

5. Preparatory Study
Do your homework and prepare your conversation and prictice your language skills. You should be prepared to discuss any unclear points about studying abroad in class. Repeatedly practice the texts covered in the week and memorize the contents. It is important to express your opinions in this class, therefore a positive attitude is a prerequisite.

6. Other Notes on the Course
1) Estimate the content and look up important words in group work, 2) Practice new wording in conversation, 3) Read the article and answer the questions, 4) Express your opinions in conversation or short phrases.
