Course Description

In this seminar course designed for third- and fourth-year students, we will explore the fascinating fictional world of J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. The class will mainly focus on the first three books of the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (1997), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (1998), and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (1999). With these widely popular stories, this course will provide students the opportunity to learn critical approaches to literary works and examine how the texts are received around the world. Students are expected to participate actively in group discussions, workshops, presentations, and other class activities.
