Course Description

This lecture covers change of market economy in Western world, particularly in the UK, France, Germany and the USA during the first half of the 20th century. Furthermore, not only economy in a narrow sense, but also society will be treated. Then, particularly following subjects will be taken up: Economy and society during the transition period from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, economy and society during and after the First World War, and economy and society during the Great Depression in the 1930's.
