Course Description

This course provides students with the basic knowledge to understand the theoretical frameworks of two representative arguments on the characteristics of International Society: realism and liberalism. The core question in this field is whether or not it is possible to achieve lasting peace in the International Society, which is, in contrast to most internal societies, anarchical. Realism and liberalism offer different answers to the question, and your goal in this course is to understand this difference and to develop your own ideas on this issue.
