Course Description

This course aims to introduce the basics of social statistics—techniques for sociologists and other social scientists. To begin with, I teach how to summarize numeric data obtained from censuses, surveys, and social researches. Gradually the contents develop to the estimation statistics. The topics include statistics (mean, median, variance, standard deviation, etc.) frequency distribution, normal distribution, central tendency, estimation (confidence interval and sample size), and t distribution.
