Course Description

Statistics has been used in many fields studying contemporary Japan due to its analytical power and explanatory usefulness. Statistics plays a key role not only in academic disciplines, but also in the affairs of private companies and national/local governments. This is because statistics can analyze a great deal of empirical data, elicit significant information, and thus provide a useful tool for effective decision-making. In this course, the basic concepts and methods of statistics are discussed.
