Course Description

Economic statistics plays an indispensable role in the smooth administration and healthy development of the national economy, and thus statistical data are considered a society’s public goods. The statistics-making organizations in Japan’s national government should maintain the reliability of such statistics, which are used to precisely check changes in economic phenomena associated with national and regional lands. Students attending this course will learn how a wide variety of economic statistics are made, what significance they have in various contexts, and how they can be used in particular situations.
