Course Description

The course offers a historical overview of Japan's relations with Asia since the Meiji era, focusing on Japan's external policies in the post-war period as well as Japan's bilateral relations with China and Korea, including "history issues" . The key issues to understand the contemporary Asia such as Asia's economic interdependence and regional integration, geopolitical transformation caused by the rise of China as well as US-china relations are also covered.
Evaluation method : regular performance(attendance, review test)(60%) and term-end exam(40%).
