Course Description

Sociological theories are considered as sorts of “condensed knowledge”of academic thoughts which have been selected through investigative activities of innumerous sociologists. Although there are many theories of those, you can grasp the essential parts of them by asking one question, that is to say “What is modernity?”
To treat the problem of modernity, I will take some social problems related to our modern world and show students the ways to solve or avoid them. In the spring term, the Mcdonalization of society and the world system theory will be chosen as our themes.
