Course Description

Today, “social psychology” is established as an academic discipline separate from either sociology or psychology. During this course, however, with the goal of increasing the knowledge of sociology majors, we will be discussing social psychology as a field related to sociology. In recent years, “micro sociology” is gathering attention from many people. However, some of these people are ignorant of social psychology, and seemed to be biased against it. This is a barrier to the intellectual development for those who major in sociology.
For this class, it will not be necessary to completely understand the unique analytical techniques and experimental methods of social psychology. Instead, I want you to understand the important findings of the field, to use that knowledge, and to be able to discuss the society we live in from various perspectives.
