Course Description

As the main subject of librarianship education program, Introduction to Library Science helps students understand an overview of library science. This course introduces library’s role in society, its main function and library law. Students will learn characteristics of various types of libraries and their users, major library institutions and associations, as well as the significance of librarian qualification and librarianship. Students will also discuss library’s mission for the future.
