This course serves as an introduction to the contemporary U.S. economy with a special focus on the problem of economic inequality and polarization. Along with an investigation into the causes and background of increasing income and wealth inequality, the major features of the U.S. economy will be covered, such as the transformation of industry structure, politics and policy, the U.S.'s role and position in the world economy.
