Course Description

Social security is a system to protect people’s daily lives from various risks that cannot be handled by individual efforts such as sickness, disability, unemployed, aging and need for long-term care. In this course, we will study social security systems in Japan and Western countries. We will also study the history of the social security systems in these countries. After taking this course, students will be able to explain the current situation and issues of Japan’s social security system.
