Course Description

Studying history is essential in order to understand the present and open the way to the future. In this course, we will study the formation and development of a market economy or capitalism. After taking this course, students will be able to explain the present situation of Japan and the world from a historical perspective. Introduction to Economic History I will cover the period mainly from the middle ages to the start of the Industrial Revolution in Britain.
