Course Description

There are countless individual incidents that arise as pathological phenomena. It is easy to see these as individual problems. However, when approaching them as instances of “social pathology,” a different perspective becomes necessary. It requires a perspective that involves focusing on the fact that pathological phenomena take place within the context of social relations. In this course, the idea of social pathology within sociology will be presented, followed by a variety of topics that have been raised in recent years.
