Course Description

The purpose of this class is to acquire methods of survey and research for the preparation of a master's thesis mainly on modern and contemporary Japanese history. Students will read, discuss, and interpret articles and historical documents related to their research topics. The class will be conducted in a round-robin reading format or in a presentation format by the instructor, depending on the number of students and the texts.
