Course Description

The subject, Japanese Constitution I, deals with the Constitution of Japan. The government's official interpretations and the judicial precedents will be discussed to understand the meanings of the 103 articles.
The Constitution was quickly drafted by the UN occupation army in just 9 days from February 4th to 12th, 1946. Ever since the Constitution was established in November of the year, even indispensable amendment has not been proposed to the Japanese people up until today.
This subject of the spring term will cover Chapter 1(the Emperor), Chapter 2(the national securities) and Chapter 3(the human rights).
The students are expected to perform in an active learning approach.
