Course Description

"Introduction to Museology" is the first subject to be taken in the museum curator training course, and the purpose is to acquire a bird's-eye view of the museum on the premise of taking more specialized subjects. A revision of the Museum Act is planned for 2022, and it is expected that the role of the museum will be redefined. Regarding museums whose value will be questioned again, in this lecture, we will learn about (1) the purpose of museology, (2) the development history of museums, (3) the role of museums, and (4) the system and function of museums. Develop the ability to think for yourself what the museum will look like in the future.
